Hello!
Welcome to the Learning Community Day School! I’m so happy you’ve found us and are interested in learning more about our program.
For over 50 years, LCDS has been honoring and celebrating childhood by providing a safe, nurturing environment where children make meaning of the world through play and investigation. We value the essential importance of these early years and are committed to preserving the wonder of early childhood. We hold space for children to create and document, to make mistakes and take sensible risks, to build relationships and their own sense of self.
Each day, I witness the way individual curiosities and interests are nurtured in our classrooms by skilled teachers who are dedicated to this unique time in a child’s life. Our teachers work side-by-side with our young investigators, helping them to make connections, build relationships, and develop a love of learning. Curriculum emerges from an inquiry-based foundation where children and adults share a mutual respect for each member of the classroom and their ideas. Our teachers’ passion for their craft is the heart of our school and I’m honored to collaborate with them each day.
I’m also thankful for the families who share their wonderful children with us. You are your child’s first and most important teacher and we welcome and value your partnership in your child’s educational journey. I work closely with our parent-led Board of Directors throughout the year to support and implement the mission of the school.
LCDS is a happy and busy place and each day is a new adventure! I invite you to come visit us and see for yourself what has made us leaders in early childhood education for over five decades.
